Marissa Gracie
Riche
March 4, 2026 – March 16, 2026
Mass
Marissa Gracie Riche, a devoted family member, accomplished scholar, and distinguished military officer, passed away on March 16, 2026, just days after her birth on March 4, 2026. Though her time was brief, her legacy is illuminated by remarkable achievements and the love she held for those close to her.
Marissa was born into a family that greatly valued dedication and service. She earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from XYZ University, where she was honored with the Outstanding Academic Achievement award in 2010. Her commitment to excellence was evident throughout her educational pursuits and professional life.
Her distinguished military career spanned 20 years of dedicated service in the United States Army, where she attained the rank of Colonel. Her valor in combat during the Gulf War earned her the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, a testament to her bravery and sacrifice.
In her personal life, Marissa treasured time spent with family, especially during the holidays when she would prepare her famous apple pie every Thanksgiving—a tradition warmly cherished by those who knew her. Her passion for collecting rare books reflected her deep appreciation for history and knowledge, often spending hours exploring bookstores and auctions to expand her treasured collection.
Marissa is remembered by her sister Sarah Johnson, brother-in-law Tom Johnson, and close friend Rachel Lee, who grieve her loss and celebrate the light she brought into their lives. She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Smith; father, John Smith Sr.; and brother, James Smith.
Though Marissa Gracie Riche's life was unexpectedly brief, the impact she made through her courage, intellect, and love of family will endure in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory remains a beacon of strength and dedication, inspiring those she leaves behind.
